2001 Small Brewers Festival Amateur Brewers Competition Awards

The Small Brewers Festival wants to thank all those who entered this years competition. We had 107 entries. This is well up from last years level. It was a difficult task to get all the entries judged in accordance to the BJCP guidelines. The Worts of Wisdom came through and did an outstanding job in completing the judging rounds in a timely manner. Many thanks to all who came out and participated in the event.

We are pround to announce that Jamil Zainasheff has won for his Robust Porter entry. Congratulations to Jamil for a splendid example of the style. An invitation will be extended to Jamil to come to the Mountain View Tied House and brew a batch of his recipe to be featured at next years festival.

It was a tough showdown in the best of show judging session. It came down to a battle with the Barleywine and the Russian Imperial Stout winners. In the final analysis it was Jamil's Porter that was chosen as a superior example of the Robust Porter style.

It was a hard fought competition. There were so many great beers that were entered. The competition has grown to be a premier event at the Brew Fest. Thanks to all who entered and we appreciate all the support of the festival.

All of the judging sheets will be available at the Worts of Wisdom booth at the festival. Please stop by and claim your awards and scoresheets after the best of show judging.
